This week the children in Rabbit class have been exploring different types of 'snow' during a sensory, messy play session. They enjoyed experiencing the different textures of the moon sand and cornflour gloop, though I think the staff ended up wearing most of it by the end of the session!
As fun as the messy play sessions are, they also give the children chance to practice their dressing and undressing skills, which are very important steps towards independence. We try and provide as many opportunities throughout the week to practise these skills, and encourage the children to be as independent as possible.
