Supporting Your Child's Well Being19 March 2021 (by charlottedowson) |
Please see links below to a guide that has been produced by the Educational Psychology Service to help parents/carers to support their child's emotional wellbeing during this pandemic - in particular supporting the return to their education setting.
Special acknowledgment for developing this guide goes to Dr Catherine McKenna (Area Senior Educational Psychologist) and to Rebecca Clarke (Assistant Psychologist).
This guide complements the guide for education settings that our Service first produced in the Summer of last year. The education setting guide (attached) is revised regularly and I attach the most recent version. Special acknowledgement for developing the guide goes to Helen Mitton (Area Senior Educational Psychologist) and again to Rebecca Clark.
The guide for education settings is on the local offer (Educational Psychology Service page) and I've asked for the parent/carer guide to be uploaded on that page too.

I have recently circulated information about the new online training course - Psychological First Aid which is available to all frontline workers and parents/carers. This approach forms the model of support we refer to in the Wellbeing for Education Return training and so I'm hoping that as many practitioners who support children and young people up to 25, along with their parents/carers will consider completing this training.
